A tote bag is a roomy, open-top shoulder bag with two handles, built to carry your laptop, lunch and everything else. This page gathers designer-inspired tote bags for women: the designer look without the designer price, in leather and faux-leather, canvas, denim and woven styles. Prices start from $12, and LOVEMI does not sell branded designer pieces, only the look.

How to choose a luxury-look tote bag

Start with the job the bag has to do. For the office, pick a structured top-handle tote with a zip or flap so papers stay put; a polished black, tan or chocolate shade reads as luxe at once. For shopping and weekends, a large-capacity canvas or denim shoulder tote is easier and lighter, and a foldable one slips into a suitcase. If you love a luxury tote bag with some personality, look at the woven basket styles and the vintage-inspired top-handle bags with tassels. Hold the strap length against your shoulder in the photos: a longer drop sits better over a coat.

Designer totes for women, styled simply

The designer-inspired look comes from restraint. Pair a neutral tote with a crisp white shirt and tailored trousers, or with a slip dress and loafers for dinner. Let the bag be the one statement piece and keep jewellery small. A black or chocolate tote works with almost every outfit, so it is a safe first choice if you only buy one.
